Catechist Formation

Catechetical Sunday will be celebrated on

September 19, 2010.  The theme is "Matrimony:  Sacrament of Enduring Love."

A teacher's program will be held on Tuesday,

September 21, at 7:00 PM.  Chris Adams, representative of Pflaum Gospel Weeklies will give a presentation on our new lectionary based program of catechetical instruction.  Weekly lessons explore the Gospel, Old and New testament Readings of the upcoming Sunday liturgy.

Save the date!  The Fall River Faith Formation Ministry Convention entitled, "Live in the Light" will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa, 1225 Iyannough Road, Route 132 and Bearse's Way, Hyannis.  The keynote speaker, Brother Mickey McGrath, artist and author, will speak on "Saved by Beauty."  The convention workshops' topics include the following and more:

  • Teaching Social Justice in the Elementary Grades
  • Bullying and Suicide Prevention
  • Immigrants and the Rights of Workers
  • Catholics Confront Global Poverty - CRS
  • Care for God's Creation
  • Living and Teaching Non-Violence
  • The Seamless Garment of Life
  • Education for Justice - Youth and Young Adults - CRS
  • "This Little Light" - Thea Bowman
  • Amos, Hosea, Micah - The prophetic call to Justice
